β¨ Technical Specifications
Crafted by the historic Tommasi family, who have been pioneering viticulture in the Veneto region since 1902, the Le Rosse Pinot Grigio is a classic expression of the Delle Venezie DOC. The wine takes its name from the Le Rosse vineyard, where the vines thrive in clay-rich, iron-dense soils that impart a distinct mineral complexity to the grapes. To preserve the pure, vibrant essence of the Pinot Grigio grape, Tommasi employs a gentle pressing followed by temperature-controlled fermentation in stainless steel tanks, entirely avoiding oak contact. This meticulous process yields a bright, straw-yellow wine celebrated for its clean aromas of golden delicious apples, ripe pears, and delicate white flowers, backed by a refreshing, crisp acidity that reflects the cool alpine breezes of northeastern Italy.
πΎ About the Producer
Founded in 1902 by Giacomo Battista Tommasi, Tommasi is an esteemed historic wine estate based in Pedemonte in the heart of the Valpolicella Classica zone of Veneto, Italy. Still owned and meticulously managed by the fourth generation of the Tommasi family, the estate has established itself as an international benchmark for authentic Northern Italian viticulture. The winery is renowned for its mastery of traditional regional winemaking techniques, particularly the native appassimento grape-drying method used to craft their powerful, long-lived Amarone della Valpolicella Classico and prestigious single-vineyard bottlings like Ca' Florian and Rafael. Alongside their iconic Valpolicella red wines, Tommasi produces refined Lugana whites, elegant Chiaretto rosΓ©s, and characterful dessert wines that celebrate indigenous varietals and historic terroirs.
