This exceptional cuvée highlights one of Napa Valley's most revered terroirs: the historic Beckstoffer To Kalon Vineyard in Oakville. Originally planted in 1868 by pioneer Hamilton Crabb, who named it 'To Kalon'—Greek for 'highest beauty'—this site is legendary for producing some of the world's finest Cabernet Sauvignon. TOR's bottling focuses specifically on Clone 337, a highly prized French clone renowned for its small berries, thick skins, and exceptional concentration. Grown in the vineyard's deep, gravelly loam soils, the grapes benefit from warm days and cool marine breezes, resulting in perfect phenolic ripeness. Winemaker Jeff Ames employs a minimalist approach, utilizing native yeast fermentations and aging the wine in select French oak barrels. The finished wine is bottled unfined and unfiltered, preserving the intense dark fruit, exquisite structure, and mineral complexity that define this world-class vineyard.

Established in 2001 by Napa Valley veteran Tor Kenward and his wife Susan, TOR Kenward Family Wines represents the culmination of nearly five decades of immersion in California viticulture. Following a 27-year tenure shaping Beringer's private reserve programs, Kenward partnered with talented winemaker Jeff Ames to craft site-driven, artisanal single-vineyard expressions. The estate sources fruit exclusively from premier, sustainably farmed crus across Napa Valley and Carneros, including Beckstoffer To Kalon, Vine Hill Ranch, Dr. Crane, Hyde Vineyard, and Durell Vineyard. Winemaking is dictated by minimal intervention, featuring native-yeast primary and malolactic fermentations, parcel-specific French oak maturation, and bottling without fining or filtration.
