This exceptional cuvée highlights one of Napa Valley's most revered terroirs: the historic Beckstoffer To Kalon Vineyard in Oakville. Originally planted in 1868 by pioneer Hamilton Crabb, who named it 'To Kalon'—Greek for 'highest beauty'—this site is legendary for producing some of the world's finest Cabernet Sauvignon. TOR's bottling focuses specifically on Clone 337, a highly prized French clone renowned for its small berries, thick skins, and exceptional concentration. Grown in the vineyard's deep, gravelly loam soils, the grapes benefit from warm days and cool marine breezes, resulting in perfect phenolic ripeness. Winemaker Jeff Ames employs a minimalist approach, utilizing native yeast fermentations and aging the wine in select French oak barrels. The finished wine is bottled unfined and unfiltered, preserving the intense dark fruit, exquisite structure, and mineral complexity that define this world-class vineyard.
