Trapiche's Costa & Pampa Chardonnay represents a daring and historic departure from Argentina's traditional high-altitude, arid mountain viticulture. Located in Chapadmalal, a mere six kilometers from the Atlantic Ocean in the Buenos Aires Province, this pioneering estate introduced maritime winemaking to a country famous for its Andean terroirs. The vineyards are heavily influenced by the cold South Atlantic breeze, constant humidity, and a mild climate, which allow the Chardonnay grapes to ripen slowly while retaining exceptional natural acidity. Unlike the richer, tropical-fruit-forward Chardonnays of Mendoza, this coastal expression is defined by its crispness, mineral tension, and a distinct saline quality that reflects its ocean-facing heritage. Fermented primarily in stainless steel with a portion aged in French oak, it beautifully balances vibrant citrus and green apple notes with a delicate, textured finish.

Founded in 1883 by Tiburcio Benegas, Trapiche is one of Argentina's oldest and most pioneering wineries, located in the Maipú department of Mendoza. Operating from a historic, beautifully restored Florentine-style winery built in 1912, the estate is celebrated for introducing French grape varieties and modern viticultural techniques to the region. Under the guidance of renowned winemakers, Trapiche focuses on expressing the diverse terroirs of Mendoza—ranging from high-altitude Andean vineyards to their pioneering coastal estate in Chapadmalal, Buenos Aires. The winery is globally acclaimed for its exceptional Malbecs, particularly its Single Vineyard series, as well as elegant expressions of Cabernet Sauvignon, Chardonnay, and Pinot Noir.
