Trapiche's acclaimed Single Vineyard series is a visionary initiative designed to honor the individual grape growers who partner with the winery to produce Mendoza's finest fruit. The Federico Villafañe bottling originates from a meticulously farmed vineyard in La Consulta, located in the southern Uco Valley at an elevation of approximately 1,100 meters above sea level. This high-altitude terroir benefits from extreme diurnal temperature shifts and sandy-loam soils layered over calcium carbonate. The resulting Malbec is highly concentrated and expressive, typically undergoing aging in French oak barrels to refine its robust tannins. It stands as a testament to the synergy between grower and winemaker, capturing the distinct, mineral-edged, and floral-inflected character of La Consulta.
