The 'Fond de Cave' line from Trapiche is deeply rooted in Argentine winemaking history, its name translating to 'bottom of the cellar'—a romantic reference to the old tradition where winemakers hid their most prized, limited-production barrels in the deepest, darkest corners of the cellar for private consumption and special guests. Sourced from select high-altitude vineyards in Mendoza, this Reserva Malbec benefits from the dramatic diurnal temperature shifts of the Andes, which help concentrate flavors while maintaining fresh acidity. The wine is aged in a combination of French and American oak barrels to round out its velvety tannins and add subtle layers of spice and vanilla to its rich dark fruit profile.
