✨ wine.spec_sheet

Trapiche's Medalla range was first introduced in 1983 to commemorate the winery's centenary, marking a milestone as one of Argentina's first premium, oak-aged wines. Crafted from selected vineyards in the high-altitude terroirs of Mendoza, this Cabernet Sauvignon showcases the grape's exceptional adaptation to the region's semi-desert climate and alluvial soils. The wine undergoes traditional fermentation followed by extensive aging in French oak barrels for approximately 18 months, resulting in a structured, elegant red. It weaves together intense aromas of black cassis, red currants, and subtle eucalyptus with sophisticated notes of sweet spices, tobacco, and cedar derived from its careful oak regimen.

Founded in 1883 by Tiburcio Benegas, Trapiche is one of Argentina's oldest and most pioneering wineries, located in the Maipú department of Mendoza. Operating from a historic, beautifully restored Florentine-style winery built in 1912, the estate is celebrated for introducing French grape varieties and modern viticultural techniques to the region. Under the guidance of renowned winemakers, Trapiche focuses on expressing the diverse terroirs of Mendoza—ranging from high-altitude Andean vineyards to their pioneering coastal estate in Chapadmalal, Buenos Aires. The winery is globally acclaimed for its exceptional Malbecs, particularly its Single Vineyard series, as well as elegant expressions of Cabernet Sauvignon, Chardonnay, and Pinot Noir.
