Trapiche's Oak Cask line represents a harmonious bridge between Mendoza's generous sunshine and classic oak aging. The Oak Cask Syrah is crafted from grapes grown in the foothills of the Andes, where high-altitude vineyards experience intense sunlight and cool night breezes, preserving natural acidity while developing rich, concentrated flavors. This Syrah undergoes a careful fermentation process followed by aging in selected oak barrels for approximately nine months. The result is a wine that exhibits the grape's signature spicy and dark fruit character, enhanced by subtle notes of vanilla and toasted wood from its time in oak. It pays homage to Trapiche's long-standing tradition of pioneering wood-aging techniques in Argentina, which began in the late 19th century.

Founded in 1883 by Tiburcio Benegas, Trapiche is one of Argentina's oldest and most pioneering wineries, located in the Maipú department of Mendoza. Operating from a historic, beautifully restored Florentine-style winery built in 1912, the estate is celebrated for introducing French grape varieties and modern viticultural techniques to the region. Under the guidance of renowned winemakers, Trapiche focuses on expressing the diverse terroirs of Mendoza—ranging from high-altitude Andean vineyards to their pioneering coastal estate in Chapadmalal, Buenos Aires. The winery is globally acclaimed for its exceptional Malbecs, particularly its Single Vineyard series, as well as elegant expressions of Cabernet Sauvignon, Chardonnay, and Pinot Noir.
