Trapiche's Terroir Series represents a masterclass in terroir selection, celebrating the individual grape growers of Mendoza who supply exceptional fruit to the winery. The Orellana bottling originates from a single, historic vineyard in La Consulta, San Carlos, within the Uco Valley, meticulously tended by grower Jorge Orellana. Planted in the mid-20th century, these old vines thrive in sandy loam soils with a distinct presence of calcium carbonate at an altitude of nearly 1,000 meters. This high-altitude terroir, characterized by intense solar radiation and dramatic diurnal temperature shifts, yields a Malbec of profound concentration, structural elegance, and mineral complexity. The wine is traditionally aged in French oak barrels for 18 months, resulting in a sophisticated expression that balances dark fruit intensity with refined, chalky tannins.

Founded in 1883 by Tiburcio Benegas, Trapiche is one of Argentina's oldest and most pioneering wineries, located in the Maipú department of Mendoza. Operating from a historic, beautifully restored Florentine-style winery built in 1912, the estate is celebrated for introducing French grape varieties and modern viticultural techniques to the region. Under the guidance of renowned winemakers, Trapiche focuses on expressing the diverse terroirs of Mendoza—ranging from high-altitude Andean vineyards to their pioneering coastal estate in Chapadmalal, Buenos Aires. The winery is globally acclaimed for its exceptional Malbecs, particularly its Single Vineyard series, as well as elegant expressions of Cabernet Sauvignon, Chardonnay, and Pinot Noir.
