The Trapiche Terroir Series Piedras Chardonnay is a masterclass in high-altitude viticulture, sourced from the stony, calcium carbonate-rich soils of Gualtallary in the Uco Valley, Mendoza. Situated at over 1,300 meters above sea level, these extreme conditions force the vines to dig deep, resulting in a Chardonnay of remarkable tension and mineral complexity. The name 'Piedras' pays homage to the round river stones that dominate the vineyard floor, radiating heat back to the vines during the cool mountain nights. Fermented with native yeasts and aged in select French oak barrels, this wine beautifully balances the natural, electric acidity of the high Andes with a rich, textured palate of white peach, citrus blossom, and a distinct flinty minerality.
