Trapiche's 'Viña Fausto Orellana de Escobar' is a stellar component of their acclaimed Single Vineyard series, which pays homage to the dedicated grape growers of Mendoza by placing their names directly on the label. Sourced from an exceptional old-vine vineyard planted in 1944 in La Consulta, San Carlos within the Uco Valley, this wine showcases the profound depth of high-altitude Malbec. The terroir, characterized by sandy loam soils with calcium carbonate deposits, yields small, highly concentrated berries. Hand-harvested and aged in French oak barrels for 12 to 18 months, this Malbec delivers intense aromas of dark plums, violets, and graphite, backed by a powerful yet velvety tannic structure that reflects the heritage of these octogenarian vines.

Founded in 1883 by Tiburcio Benegas, Trapiche is one of Argentina's oldest and most pioneering wineries, located in the Maipú department of Mendoza. Operating from a historic, beautifully restored Florentine-style winery built in 1912, the estate is celebrated for introducing French grape varieties and modern viticultural techniques to the region. Under the guidance of renowned winemakers, Trapiche focuses on expressing the diverse terroirs of Mendoza—ranging from high-altitude Andean vineyards to their pioneering coastal estate in Chapadmalal, Buenos Aires. The winery is globally acclaimed for its exceptional Malbecs, particularly its Single Vineyard series, as well as elegant expressions of Cabernet Sauvignon, Chardonnay, and Pinot Noir.
