Trimbach's Gewurztraminer Ribeaupierres, historically known as the Cuvée des Seigneurs de Ribeaupierre, pays tribute to the ancient lords whose castles still dominate the skyline above the historic village of Ribeauvillé. This exceptional cuvée is sourced from old vines planted in the prestigious marl-limestone soils of the Muhlforst lieu-dit and the Grand Crus Osterberg and Kirchberg. True to the uncompromising Trimbach style, this wine eschews the heavy, cloying sweetness often associated with the grape. Instead, it is vinified dry, utilizing cool fermentation in temperature-controlled tanks and old wooden foudres without malolactic fermentation. This meticulous approach preserves a razor-sharp, crystalline acidity that perfectly balances the grape's natural exoticism, resulting in a structured, deeply mineral, and aristocratic expression of Alsatian terroir.
