✨ wine.spec_sheet

Maison Trimbach's Riesling Selection de Grains Nobles represents the absolute pinnacle of Alsatian sweet winemaking, produced only in exceptional vintages when weather conditions allow for the perfect development of Botrytis cinerea (noble rot). While Gewurztraminer and Pinot Gris are more common candidates for this style, Riesling SGN is incredibly rare due to the grape's late-ripening nature and thick skins, which resist rot. Trimbach's signature style—characterized by structural tension, pristine acidity, and mineral drive—shines through the intense concentration of this elixir. The grapes are painstakingly harvested by hand in multiple passes ('tries successive') to select only the most perfectly shriveled, botrytized berries. The resulting wine is a masterclass in balance, where luscious sweetness is perfectly countered by a vibrant, electric beam of acidity, offering complex notes of candied citrus, honeyed apricot, ginger, and petrol.

Established in 1626 by Jean Trimbach, Maison Trimbach has spent nearly four centuries defining the pinnacle of Alsatian winemaking from its historic base in Ribeauvillé, France. Under the enduring stewardship of the Trimbach family, the estate is globally revered for its uncompromising dedication to a dry, structured, and intensely mineral style of wine that eschews malolactic fermentation to preserve pristine acidity and varietal purity. Their legendary portfolio is anchored by the iconic Clos Sainte Hune, a peerless monopole Riesling from the Rosacker Grand Cru, alongside exceptional expressions of Gewurztraminer, Pinot Gris, and Pinot Blanc. By marrying deep-rooted ancestral traditions with meticulous vineyard management, Trimbach continues to craft some of the world's most cellar-worthy and gastronomically versatile white wines.
