Tyrrell's Brookdale Semillon is a classic expression of Hunter Valley Semillon, representing the estate's signature style in a highly approachable format. Sourced from premier vineyards across the Hunter Valley floor, including the historic Brookdale property, the grapes are harvested early to preserve their naturally high, vibrant acidity and low sugar levels. In keeping with the traditional Hunter Valley method pioneered by Tyrrell's, the juice undergoes cool fermentation in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks with no oak contact or malolactic fermentation. This minimalist winemaking approach allows the pure, pristine character of the Semillon grape and the unique sandy loam soils of the region to shine. The result is a wine of remarkable energy, defined by bright citrus and mineral notes in its youth, which gracefully transforms into a complex, textured masterpiece with bottle age.

Established in 1858 by English immigrant Edward Tyrrell, Tyrrell's is one of Australia's oldest and most prestigious family-owned wineries, located in the historic Pokolbin sub-region of the Hunter Valley, New South Wales. Today, under the guidance of fourth-generation family member Bruce Tyrrell, the estate continues to champion its rich heritage while managing some of the region's oldest dry-grown vineyards. Tyrrell's is globally celebrated for its benchmark Hunter Valley Semillon, particularly the iconic Vat 1 Semillon, which showcases extraordinary longevity and complexity without oak contact. The winery is also a pioneer of Australian Chardonnay, exemplified by the historic Vat 47, alongside exceptional, elegant Shiraz expressions such as Vat 9, cementing its status as an icon of Australian viticulture.
