Tyrrell's Old Hut Vineyard Shiraz is a distinguished single-vineyard expression sourced from a block planted in 2003 on the historic Ashmans property in the Hunter Valley. The vineyard takes its name from the remnants of an old shepherd's hut that stands on the site, connecting the modern vines to the region's deep pastoral history. Grown on a ridge of rich, red clay loam over limestone, the vines produce fruit with exceptional intensity and structural elegance. In the cellar, Tyrrell's employs traditional open-top fermentation followed by maturation in large, older French oak casks to preserve the vibrant, savory red fruit and spice characteristics typical of classic Hunter Valley Shiraz without overpowering it with oak woodiness.

Founded in 1858 by Edward Tyrrell, Tyrrell's is one of Australia's oldest and most prestigious family-owned wineries, nestled against the Brokenback Range in the Hunter Valley of New South Wales.
