Tyrrell's 'Old Patch' Shiraz is sourced from a historic block of vines planted in 1867, making it one of the oldest continually producing, own-rooted vineyards in the world. Located in the Pokolbin sub-region of the Hunter Valley, these ancient, dry-grown vines thrive on a strip of rich, red volcanic basalt soil. The wine is a testament to traditional Hunter Valley winemaking, fermented in open-top oak vats and matured in large, older French oak casks (foudres) to allow the unique terroir and pure fruit expression to shine without being overshadowed by new wood.
