Verget's 'Grands Terroirs' is a masterful expression of white Burgundy, crafted under the visionary guidance of Jean-Marie Guffens. Sourced from select, limestone-rich parcels across the Mâconnais, this 100% Chardonnay cuvée is designed to showcase the diverse micro-terroirs of the region. Guffens, famous for challenging Burgundy's traditional hierarchies, applies the same rigorous standards to this wine as he does to his prestigious single-vineyard bottlings. The grapes undergo gentle pneumatic pressing, followed by fermentation and aging primarily in temperature-controlled stainless steel and concrete vats to preserve the pristine fruit character and vibrant acidity. The result is a beautifully textured white wine defined by notes of crisp green apple, citrus blossom, and a signature chalky, mineral-driven finish that punches far above its regional classification.
