True to the pioneering spirit of Jean-Marie Guffens, Verget crafts this wine with meticulous care, utilizing gentle pneumatic pressing and aging in a combination of older oak barrels and stainless steel vats. Maison Verget was established in 1990 by visionary Belgian winemaker Jean-Marie Guffens and his wife Maine Heynen in Sologny, located in the Mâconnais region of southern Burgundy. Renowned as a trailblazing négociant-éleveur, the house revolutionized Burgundy winemaking by implementing uncompromising standards of fruit selection, gentle horizontal pressing, and precise maturation on fine lees with minimal oak intervention.
