Hailing from the sun-drenched amphitheater of Davaye, a commune nestled in the shadow of the spectacular limestone cliffs of Solutre and Vergisson, Verget's 'Terroirs de Davaye' is a masterful expression of Macon-Villages Chardonnay. Winemaker Jean-Marie Guffens, a legendary iconoclast who redefined the quality potential of the Maconnais, selects fruit from prime clay-limestone parcels in Davaye. The wine is crafted with Verget's signature precision, utilizing gentle pressing and temperature-controlled fermentation in stainless steel and concrete vats to preserve the pristine purity of the fruit. Free from heavy oak influence, this cuvee captures the vibrant energy, chalky minerality, and rich stone fruit character that defines the unique terroir of Davaye, showcasing a perfect balance of tension and fleshiness.
