Veuve Clicquot's Vintage Rosé is a testament to the house's pioneering spirit, tracing its lineage back to 1818 when Madame Clicquot herself broke with tradition to create the very first blended Rosé Champagne by combining her still red wines from Bouzy with her white sparkling wines. Crafted only in exceptional years, this cuvée highlights the structure and power of Pinot Noir, which dominates the blend. The grapes are sourced from prestigious Grand and Premier Cru vineyards in the Montagne de Reims and Côte des Blancs. To achieve its deep complexity and copper-pink hue, a portion of Pinot Noir is vinified as still red wine before blending. The wine is then aged for several years in the historic, labyrinthine chalk cellars (Crayères) of Reims, resulting in a Champagne of remarkable depth, boasting notes of red berries, toasted brioche, and refined minerality.
