✨ Technical Specifications

Named in honor of Édouard Werlé, the trusted business partner who succeeded the legendary Madame Clicquot in 1866, this ultra-rare prestige cuvée represents a historic chapter in the legacy of Veuve Clicquot. Produced only in exceptional vintage years prior to the introduction of 'La Grande Dame', the Cuvée Édouard Werlé is a masterclass in the house's signature style. It is crafted primarily from Pinot Noir sourced from historic Grand Cru vineyards in the Montagne de Reims, which provides power and structure, balanced by Chardonnay from prestigious Côte des Blancs sites for elegance and longevity. Aged for an extended period on its lees in the house's chalk crayères, this Champagne develops profound complexity, characterized by notes of dried stone fruits, toasted brioche, hazelnut, and a deep, mineral-driven finish.

🍾 About the Producer

Founded in 1772 by Philippe Clicquot in Reims, Veuve Clicquot rose to global prominence under the visionary leadership of Madame Clicquot, the legendary Grande Dame of Champagne who took control of the house in 1805. Renowned for transformative innovations including the creation of the riddling table and the development of the first blended rosé Champagne, the Maison has shaped modern sparkling winemaking history. Anchored in premier terroirs across Champagne, the estate champions a Pinot Noir-dominant philosophy that delivers structural power, richness, and enduring freshness. Today, part of the LVMH group, the house is celebrated globally for its iconic Yellow Label Brut as well as prestige expressions like La Grande Dame and the vintage Cave Privée series.
