Sourced from the sun-drenched, steep slopes of the southern reaches of Alsace, the Medaille Riesling from Cave du Vieil-Armand is a tribute to both terroir and history. The cooperative itself is named after the Hartmannswillerkopf (Vieil-Armand) battlefield of World War I, a place where history and memory now watch over peaceful, thriving vineyards. This Riesling is crafted from grapes grown on complex soils of granite, sandstone, and silt, which imbue the wine with its signature mineral tension. This bottling represents a traditional, dry expression of Alsatian Riesling, celebrated for its crystalline purity, vibrant citrus notes, and a stony, flinty backbone that reflects the resilient spirit of the region.

Founded in 1958 at the foot of the historic Hartmannswillerkopf hill—known in French as the Vieil Armand—Cave du Vieil-Armand is a distinguished cooperative estate situated in the southern Alsace village of Wuenheim. Drawing upon an extraordinary mosaic of terroirs, including the historic vineyards of Château d'Ollwiller, the estate unites dedicated local winegrowers committed to authentic regional craftsmanship and sustainable viticulture.
