Hailing from the sun-drenched slopes of southern Alsace, the Vieil-Armand Pinot Gris is a superb expression of a noble grape with a storied past. Historically referred to in Alsace as Tokay, legend once falsely linked this grape to Hungarian royalty, though its true heritage is Burgundian. Grown in the unique, mineral-rich soils of granite and silt at the foot of the historic Hartmannswillerkopf, this wine benefits from a sheltered microclimate that coaxes out the grape's signature richness. The winemakers at Cave du Vieil-Armand employ gentle pressing and temperature-controlled fermentation to preserve the delicate balance between opulent, smoky stone-fruit aromas and a crisp, structured acidity, resulting in a classic Alsatian white of great harmony and depth.

Founded in 1958 at the foot of the historic Hartmannswillerkopf hill—known in French as the Vieil Armand—Cave du Vieil-Armand is a distinguished cooperative estate situated in the southern Alsace village of Wuenheim.
