In the rain-shadow of the Vosges Mountains, Alsace is as famous for its artisanal distilling heritage as it is for its grand cru wines. Cave du Vieil-Armand honors this centuries-old tradition with its Poire Williams, a classic Alsatian eau-de-vie. Crafted from hand-harvested, perfectly ripe Williams pears, the fruit undergoes a natural fermentation before being slowly distilled in traditional copper alembic stills. This meticulous process captures the volatile, highly aromatic esters of the pear, resulting in a crystal-clear spirit of remarkable purity and intense orchard aromatics. It represents a liquid snapshot of Alsace's historic orchard-growing heritage, preserving the fleeting essence of autumn fruit.
