✨ Technical Specifications
Villa Creek's Luna Matta Vineyard Aglianico showcases a unique expression of the southern Italian Aglianico grape grown in the westside limestone-rich soils of Paso Robles' Peachy Canyon region. Farmed organically and biodynamically, this high-elevation site yields fruit with vibrant acidity and firm structure. Crafted with minimal intervention, Villa Creek ages this wine in concrete and neutral oak vessels to preserve the variety's intense dark fruit, savory herbs, and earthy minerality. Villa Creek Cellars evolved from Cris and JoAnn Cherry's iconic Paso Robles restaurant, becoming a benchmark for Rhône and Mediterranean varietal wines in California's Central Coast.
🍾 About the Producer
Founded in 2001 by Cris and JoAnn Cherry, Villa Creek emerged from the couple's renowned Paso Robles restaurant, evolving into one of the Central Coast's benchmark artisanal wine estates. Situated in the rugged, limestone-rich hills of west Paso Robles, the winery operates hand-in-hand with their CCOF-certified organic and Demeter-certified biodynamic MAHA Estate vineyard. Embracing minimal-intervention cellar practices and native yeast fermentations, Villa Creek captures the raw energy and calcareous character of the terroir. The estate is widely celebrated for its dynamic, age-worthy Rhône- and Mediterranean-inspired red blends, along with distinctive varietal expressions such as Grenache, Syrah, Mourvèdre, and single-vineyard bottlings like the Luna Matta Vineyard Aglianico.
