✨ Technical Specifications
Hailing from the sandy, limestone-laced soils of the Paraje Marín vineyard in southern Jumilla, the 2021 Bruma del Estrecho de Marín is a masterful expression of 100% Monastrell. This project, born from a desire to showcase the delicate, site-specific nuances of the region, defies the traditional stereotype of heavy, over-extracted Jumilla reds. The 2021 vintage benefited from a balanced growing season, yielding grapes with superb phenolic ripeness and a vibrant, natural acidity. Fermented in concrete vats and aged delicately to preserve its bright, fruit-forward character, this wine captures the essence of the local terroir—offering a perfumed nose of wild red berries, Mediterranean herbs, and a distinctive mineral undertone that whispers of the parched, sun-drenched landscapes of southeastern Spain.
🍾 About the Producer
Founded in 1948 by Francisco Pacheco, Bodegas Viña Elena is a family-owned estate nestled in the rugged, high-altitude landscape of Jumilla within Murcia, Spain. Today guided by the third generation under Elena Pacheco, the winery is dedicated to preserving viticultural heritage through sustainable farming and precise, terroir-driven winemaking. The estate focuses predominantly on old bush-trained, dry-farmed Monastrell grapes cultivated across distinct soil profiles and microclimates. Viña Elena is widely celebrated for producing authentic, nuanced red wines—including their acclaimed Bruma del Estrecho de Marín parcel series—that elegantly balance intense Mediterranean fruit with mineral freshness.
