The Rudesheimer Berg Kaisersteinfels is situated at the highest elevation of the legendary Rudesheimer Berg, where the vineyards cling to extreme, steep terraces ('Terrassen') overlooking the Rhine. This unique site is defined by its weathered red slate, quartzite, and gravel soils, which are painstakingly maintained by historic dry-stone walls. Weingut Leitz has played a pivotal role in recultivating these challenging high-altitude terraces. Due to the cooler microclimate at the top of the slope, the Riesling grapes undergo a prolonged ripening period, retaining a vibrant, electric acidity and developing a complex profile of wild herbs, flinty minerality, and citrus zest. The resulting wine is a masterclass in tension, structural elegance, and crystalline purity, reflecting the rugged slate terroir of the Rheingau.

With family viticultural heritage in Rüdesheim tracing back to 1744, Weingut Leitz began a dynamic modern era when Johannes Leitz took helm of the family estate in 1985.
