Perched on the extreme slopes of Rüdesheim am Rhein, the Berg Roseneck vineyard features steep, terraced inclines defined by deep Devonian quartzite, weathered slate, and pockets of loess-loam. This 'Alte Reben' bottling harnesses low-yielding, deep-rooted old vines that delve into the rocky bedrock to sustain balanced ripening and physiological density. In the cellar, vinification highlights parcel specificity, typically relying on spontaneous fermentation in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks alongside seasoned, neutral German Stückfass oak casks. Extended contact on the fine lees preserves energetic tension while providing broad structural depth, yielding an aristocratic, mineral-driven dry Riesling with exceptional longevity.

Weingut Leitz traces its familial viticultural ancestry back to 1744, though its modern renaissance commenced in 1985 when Johannes Leitz assumed control of the war-ravaged, 2.9-hectare family estate in Rüdesheim am Rhein.
