Perched high above the Rhine on the Rüdesheimer Berg, the Berg Roseneck site is characterized by weathered Taunus quartzite, loess, and deep red slate. This steep, terraced exposition enjoys prolonged solar exposure tempered by constant river breezes, promoting late hang time and pristine, botrytis-touched clusters. Traditional vinification relies on ambient yeasts with fermentation halted to retain natural residual sweetness, typically utilizing temperature-regulated stainless steel vats and neutral wooden casks (Stückfass) to preserve aromatic purity and laser-like acidity.

Weingut Leitz traces its familial viticultural ancestry back to 1744, though its modern renaissance commenced in 1985 when Johannes Leitz assumed control of the war-ravaged, 2.9-hectare family estate in Rüdesheim am Rhein. Through meticulous parcel acquisition and restoration of steep, historic slate and quartzite terraces, Leitz transformed the domaine into a premier Rheingau reference point.
