The Rüdesheimer Berg Roseneck vineyard takes its poetic name from the wild roses ('Rosen') that historically clung to the steep, rocky outcrops ('Eck') overlooking the Rhine River. This south-facing grand cru site is characterized by its extreme slopes and a complex soil composition of quartzite, slate, and loess. Weingut Leitz's dry (Trocken) expression from this vineyard beautifully captures this unique terroir. The wine is fermented and aged primarily in stainless steel to preserve its crystalline purity, resulting in a Riesling of immense depth, vibrant acidity, and a distinct flinty minerality.
