✨ Tekniske specifikationer
In the dramatic, steep hills of Southern Styria, Chardonnay is known by its historic local synonym, Morillon—a name steeped in regional folklore, once thought to be an entirely unique grape variety brought to Austria centuries ago. Weingut Tement's Ried Wielitschberg Morillon is a stunning testament to this heritage. Grown on the steep, sun-drenched slopes of the Wielitschberg vineyard, which sits directly on the Slovenian border, the vines dig deep into soils composed of sandy loam, gravel, and calcareous marl. The Tement family employs strict biodynamic farming and a minimalist cellar philosophy, allowing the juice to ferment spontaneously and age gracefully on its fine lees in neutral oak casks. This gentle craftsmanship coaxes out a wine of incredible tension, characterized by a vibrant saline minerality, subtle smoky reduction, and a deep, textured core of orchard fruit.
