The Wolfer Goldgrube, or 'gold mine' of Wolf, is a legendary steep-slope vineyard in the Mosel, characterized by weathered grey slate soils and extremely old, ungrafted Riesling vines. Weingut Vollenweider's Beerenauslese (BA) is an extraordinary sweet nectar produced only in vintages where botrytis develops perfectly. Hand-harvested berry by individual berry, this wine represents the pinnacle of patience and traditional Mosel craftsmanship. The steep amphitheater of the Goldgrube traps warmth, allowing the grapes to reach incredible sugar concentration while retaining the vibrant, mineral-infused acidity that defines the region's finest sweet wines.

Established in 2000 by the late Swiss winemaker Daniel Vollenweider, Weingut Vollenweider is located in Traben-Trarbach in the Mosel region of Germany. The estate is renowned for reclaiming and preserving historic, extremely steep vineyards, most notably the Wolfer Goldgrube, which features ancient, ungrafted Riesling vines. Operating with a philosophy of meticulous manual labor, low yields, and minimal intervention in the cellar, the winery crafts highly precise, mineral-driven white wines, particularly their legendary, tension-filled Riesling Auslese expressions.
