The '100 Hügel' (100 Hills) range from Weingut Wittmann is a vibrant tribute to the rolling, wave-like landscape of Rheinhessen, affectionately known as the 'land of a thousand hills.' Sourced from organically certified vineyards, this Weisser Burgunder (Pinot Blanc) captures the limestone-rich terroir of the region. The Wittmann family applies the same meticulous biodynamic care to these estate wines as they do to their legendary Grosses Gewächs sites. Fermented primarily in stainless steel with a small portion in traditional large oak casks, this dry white wine showcases the elegant, melting texture and bright acidity characteristic of Rheinhessen's cool-climate Pinot Blanc, underpinned by a fine, salty minerality.

🍾 wine.about_producer

With a winegrowing heritage in the Rheinhessen village of Westhofen dating back to 1663, Weingut Wittmann is a pioneering force in German biodynamic viticulture, having committed to organic practices in 1990 and biodynamics in 2004. Managed today by Philipp Wittmann alongside his family, the estate is globally revered for its precise, terroir-driven dry Rieslings sourced from legendary Grosses Gewächs sites like Morstein, Kirchspiel, and Aulerde. In their historic vaulted cellar built in 1829, the wines are fermented with indigenous yeasts and aged in traditional large oak casks, resulting in structured, mineral-rich expressions of outstanding longevity.
