Hailing from the legendary Morstein vineyard—the oldest documented site in Westhofen, dating back to 1282—this Beerenauslese (BA) is a rare, noble sweet masterpiece. The Morstein slope is renowned for its heavy clayey marl soils underlaid with dense limestone, which imparts a profound mineral tension to the vines. Crafted only in exceptional vintages when botrytis cinerea develops perfectly, the grapes are meticulously harvested by hand, berry by berry. With viticultural heritage in Westhofen dating back to 1663, Weingut Wittmann is one of Germany's most influential pioneers of organic and biodynamic viticulture in the Wonnegau sub-region of Rheinhessen. Under the visionary leadership of Philipp Wittmann, alongside his family, the estate transitioned to organic farming in 1990 and achieved full biodynamic certification in 2004.
