✨ wine.spec_sheet

Hailing from the historic cooperative of Wolfberger, founded in the picturesque village of Eguisheim in 1902, this Pinot Noir represents the unique red wine heritage of Alsace. While Alsace is world-renowned for its aromatic white wines, Pinot Noir is the region's sole traditional red grape, cultivated here since the Middle Ages when Cistercian monks first brought vines from Burgundy. Wolfberger's expression showcases the classic Alsatian terroir, where the protective rain shadow of the Vosges Mountains creates a sunny, dry microclimate. Grown on diverse clay-limestone soils, the grapes undergo traditional vinification with gentle extraction to preserve their bright, fruit-forward character. The resulting wine is light-to-medium-bodied, elegant, and ruby-hued, defined by vibrant notes of fresh red cherry, wild raspberry, and a subtle, earthy minerality.

🍾 wine.about_producer

Founded in 1902 in the historic village of Eguisheim, Wolfberger is a pioneering force in Alsace winemaking, established originally as a cooperative by visionary local winegrowers. Spanning a diverse mosaic of Alsatian terroirs, the house respects traditional viticultural methods while embracing modern innovation to express the pure varietal character of the region. They are highly celebrated for their expressive white wines, including the "Collection Signature" series of Riesling, Gewurztraminer, and Pinot Gris, as well as their luscious Vendanges Tardives and elegant Pinot Noir. As one of the first to champion the Cr mant d'Alsace appellation, Wolfberger remains a benchmark of quality and authenticity, capturing the vibrant spirit of Alsatian viticulture.
