The Arcane series by Xavier Vignon is a collection of highly conceptual wines named after the major arcana of the Tarot deck. 'XIX Le Soleil' (The Sun) is a tribute to the intense solar energy of the Southern Rhône Valley, balanced masterfully by selecting grapes from high-altitude, cooler terroirs such as Séguret and Cairanne. This cuvée is primarily crafted from extremely old Grenache vines, some exceeding a century in age, blended with Syrah and Mourvèdre. To preserve the vibrant, sun-drenched fruit character without over-extraction or excessive oak influence, Vignon utilizes a meticulous aging regimen combining concrete eggs, truncated wooden vats, and select oak casks. The result is a wine of immense depth, complexity, and unexpected freshness that defies the intense heat of its origin.
