Part of Xavier Vignon's highly imaginative 'Arcane' series, which draws inspiration from the mysteries of the Tarot, 'XV Le Diable' (The Devil) is a powerful tribute to Mourvèdre—a grape variety famously nicknamed 'the devil' to grow due to its demanding nature and late-ripening cycle. Sourced from exceptionally old vines in the Southern Rhône, some exceeding a century in age, this cuvée captures the wild, untamed spirit of the terroir. Vignon utilizes his signature scientific precision to balance the grape's intense, rustic tannins and deep black-fruit profile, employing a meticulous aging process that preserves both the raw power and the surprising freshness of this dark, brooding nectar.
