Created to commemorate Suntory's 90th anniversary in 1989, this legendary bottling contains exceptionally old single malts, some rumored to date back to the distillery's earliest decades of production. Because the master blender utilized casks of such extreme age and undocumented provenance alongside prized Mizunara oak-aged reserves, the exact age statement was omitted, earning it the enigmatic title 'Age Unknown.' Yamazaki Distillery blev grundlagt i 1923 af Suntory-skaberen Shinjiro Torii og troner ved foden af Tennozan-bjerget i Shimamoto, Osaka, som Japans første kommercielle single malt-destilleri.
