Hailing from Japan's oldest malt whisky distillery, established in 1923 by Shinjiro Torii near Kyoto, the Yamazaki Pure Malt 12 Year Old Accordion is a legendary spirit housed in a whimsical, highly collectible music-themed decanter. Yamazaki's unique location at the confluence of three rivers—the Katsura, Uji, and Kizu—provides a misty, humid microclimate and exceptionally soft water, which are vital to its signature deep, complex profile. This expression is crafted from 100% malted barley, meticulously distilled in copper pot stills, and aged for at least twelve years in a combination of Spanish sherry, American white oak, and rare Japanese Mizunara oak casks. The result is a harmonious, multi-layered masterpiece featuring notes of dried fruit, honey, fragrant incense, and a delicate touch of Mizunara spice, embodying the pioneering spirit of Japanese whisky-making.

Yamazaki Distillery blev grundlagt i 1923 af Suntory-skaberen Shinjiro Torii og troner ved foden af Tennozan-bjerget i Shimamoto, Osaka, som Japans første kommercielle single malt-destilleri.
