✨ wine.spec_sheet
Crafted as a tribute to the visionary founder Sergio Zenato, who championed the potential of the Turbiana grape (Trebbiano di Lugana) when the region was largely overlooked. Grown on the southern shores of Lake Garda, where glacial clay soils and a mild lake microclimate impart intense minerality and structure. This Riserva is fermented and aged in oak casks (tonneaux and barriques) for about six months, followed by refinement in the bottle. The result is a texturally rich, complex white wine that defies the stereotype of light Italian whites, offering notes of stone fruit, citrus, white flowers, and a distinct flinty minerality that deepens with age.
🍾 wine.about_producer
Founded in 1960 by Sergio Zenato and his wife Carla, the Zenato winery is situated on the morainic hills of Lake Garda in San Benedetto di Lugana, Veneto, Italy. Today, the estate is managed by their children, Alberto and Francesca, who continue to champion the unique terroirs of both Lugana and Valpolicella. Renowned for pioneering the quality resurgence of the indigenous Turbiana grape, Zenato produces exceptional white wines, including the iconic Lugana Riserva Sergio Zenato. In Valpolicella, the family crafts powerful, elegant red wines from their Costalunga estate, most notably their acclaimed Amarone della Valpolicella Classico and the single-varietal Corvina, Cresasso.
