✨ wine.spec_sheet

Hailing from the morainic hills south of Lake Garda, Zenato's San Benedetto is a quintessential expression of the Lugana DOC. Crafted from 100% Turbiana (Trebbiano di Lugana) grapes grown in the historic San Benedetto vineyard, this white wine benefits from a unique microclimate tempered by the lake and soils rich in clay and minerals. Founded in 1960 by Sergio Zenato, the estate played a pivotal role in rescuing Turbiana from obscurity and showcasing its potential for producing vibrant, structurally sound white wines. The wine is fermented and aged in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks to preserve its delicate aromas of white flowers, peaches, and citrus, underpinned by a signature saline minerality that reflects its ancient lacustrine terroir.

🍾 wine.about_producer

Founded in 1960 by Sergio Zenato and his wife Carla, the Zenato winery is situated on the morainic hills of Lake Garda in San Benedetto di Lugana, Veneto, Italy. Today, the estate is managed by their children, Alberto and Francesca, who continue to champion the unique terroirs of both Lugana and Valpolicella. Renowned for pioneering the quality resurgence of the indigenous Turbiana grape, Zenato produces exceptional white wines, including the iconic Lugana Riserva Sergio Zenato. In Valpolicella, the family crafts powerful, elegant red wines from their Costalunga estate, most notably their acclaimed Amarone della Valpolicella Classico and the single-varietal Corvina, Cresasso.
