Nestled in the sun-drenched Peninsula de Setubal, Bacalhoa's 10 Anos Moscatel de Setubal is a liquid testament to Portuguese winemaking history. The region's unique microclimate, influenced by the cooling Atlantic Ocean and the protective Arabida mountain range, provides the perfect terroir for the Moscatel de Setubal grape. The winemaking process is steeped in tradition: after partial fermentation, the wine is fortified with grape spirit and left to macerate on the skins throughout the winter, extracting intense aromatic oils. It then embarks on a decade-long journey in seasoned oak casks. Over these ten years, the seasonal temperature fluctuations in the cellars gently oxidize and concentrate the wine, transforming it into a rich, amber elixir redolent of candied orange peel, honey, dried fruits, and toasted nuts.
