Quinta do Carmo, located in the historic Estremoz subregion of Alentejo, carries a legacy that beautifully bridges Portuguese tradition and French winemaking prestige. In 1992, the estate entered a landmark partnership with Domaines Barons de Rothschild (Lafite), introducing Bordeaux-style precision to the rugged, sun-drenched terroir of Alentejo. Now under the stewardship of Bacalhôa, the Quinta do Carmo Reserva Tinto continues to honor this heritage. Grown on clay-limestone soils with schist influences, the grapes undergo traditional fermentation before the wine is aged in French oak barrels. The result is an incredibly elegant, structured red wine that marries the rich, dark fruit character of Alentejo with a refined, age-worthy complexity.
