Banfi's Florus Late Harvest is a brilliant revival of Montalcino's most ancient liquid treasure: Moscadello. Long before Brunello captured the world's attention, the sweet, aromatic wines of Moscadello were highly prized during the Renaissance, famously celebrated by the 17th-century physician and poet Francesco Redi. Crafted from 100% Moscadello (Moscato Bianco) grapes cultivated in the estate's sun-drenched, calcareous clay vineyards, Florus is produced using the Vendemmia Tardiva method. The grapes are left to wither on the vine, concentrating their natural sugars, luscious stone fruit aromas, and vibrant acidity. Following a slow, temperature-controlled fermentation, the wine is aged in French oak barriques, resulting in a rich, golden nectar defined by complex notes of wild honey, dried apricot, citrus peel, and warm spices, all balanced by a remarkably fresh finish.
