✨ wine.spec_sheet

Castello Banfi, founded in 1978 by the Italian-American Mariani brothers, fundamentally reshaped the landscape of Tuscan winemaking. Nestled in the southern hills of Montalcino, Banfi combined state-of-the-art scientific research—most notably their groundbreaking clonal study of the Sangiovese grape—with deep respect for local traditions. A Tuscan Riserva from Banfi represents the pinnacle of this philosophy. Crafted primarily from meticulously selected Sangiovese grapes grown in clay and limestone-rich soils, the wine undergoes extended aging in a combination of French oak barriques and traditional large Slavonian casks. This patient maturation coaxes out complex aromas of dark cherry, leather, tobacco, and balsamic undertones, framed by robust, velvety tannins that pay homage to the ancient Etruscan roots of the region.
