Escudo Rojo, translating to 'Red Shield' in Spanish, is a direct tribute to the Rothschild family's historic name (Rote Schild). Established in 1999, this Chilean venture represents the family's dedication to marrying traditional French winemaking expertise with the exceptional terroirs of Chile. The Escudo Rojo Chardonnay is sourced from select vineyards in the cooler microclimates of the Central Valley, particularly benefiting from maritime influences that preserve natural acidity. To craft a wine of both freshness and complexity, a portion of the juice is fermented and aged in oak barrels, lending subtle notes of vanilla and toasted brioche, while the remainder is vinified in stainless steel to highlight vibrant tropical fruit and citrus aromas.
