Escudo Rojo, which translates to 'Red Shield'—the Spanish equivalent of the German 'Rote Schild' that gave the Rothschild family its name—stands as a proud bridge between Bordeaux elegance and Chilean terroir. Established in 1999 in the Central Valley of Chile, this cuvée reflects the family's quest to express the richness of South American soils through the lens of French winemaking expertise. The wine is typically aged in French oak barrels, blending the structure of Cabernet Sauvignon with the spicy, round character of Carmenère, alongside other classic varieties. This results in a deeply colored, aromatic red that captures the spirit of adventure and ancestral heritage.

Baron Philippe de Rothschild S.A. blev grundlagt af Baron Philippe de Rothschild og har hjemsted i Pauillac i Bordeaux – en af verdens mest berømte vinregioner. Huset regnes i dag blandt klodens ypperste familieejede vinvirksomheder.
