Hailing from the historic Gibson Ranch in Mendocino County's McDowell Valley, this singular wine is sourced from some of the oldest Grenache Gris vines in existence, planted in 1896. Grenache Gris is a rare, dusky-skinned mutation of Grenache. Bedrock Wine Co. honors this ancient vineyard by crafting a wine that coaxes incredible depth from these dry-farmed, head-trained old vines. To capture the grape's unique personality, the fruit undergoes minimal intervention, often utilizing brief skin contact or gentle pressing which imparts a striking, pale copper-salmon hue. The resulting wine is celebrated for its remarkable texture, vibrant acidity, and complex aromatic profile of wild alpine strawberries, orange peel, and crushed gravel minerality, standing as a living testament to California's rich viticultural history.
