✨ wine.spec_sheet

Hailing from the rocky, volcanic soils of the Weill a Way Vineyard situated at the foot of the Mayacamas Mountains in Sonoma Valley, Bedrock Wine Co.'s Mixed Blacks is a masterful tribute to California's rich history of field blends. Proprietor Peter Weill's meticulously farmed vineyard provides an exceptional canvas for this robust red. While Bedrock is famous for championing centenarian vines, this site allows them to apply their signature minimal-intervention philosophy to a younger, thoughtfully planted mix of dark-skinned varieties—typically dominated by Syrah, Grenache, and Mourvèdre, alongside other traditional 'mixed blacks.' Fermented with native yeasts and often incorporating whole clusters, the wine is aged in French oak barrels to preserve its intense, savory character. It beautifully marries the wild, peppery, and dark-fruit profile of the Rhône varieties with the distinctively stony, iron-rich minerality derived from the vineyard's cobbly volcanic terroir.
