Hailing from the revered Arbois appellation in the Jura, the 'Les Graviers' Chardonnay is a masterclass in the 'ouill)' (topped-up) style, which preserves the fresh, pristine fruit characteristics of the grape rather than the traditional oxidative qualities of the region. The name 'Graviers' pays homage to the unique terroir of the parcel: a soil rich in Bajocian limestone gravel and scree over a bed of active marl. This specific geological makeup imparts a striking, crystalline minerality and a saline finish to the wine. Biodynamically farmed and crafted with minimal intervention, the juice is fermented with indigenous yeasts and aged in French oak barrels. Established in 1962 by André and Mireille Tissot and taken over by their son Stéphane alongside his wife Bénédicte in 1990, Domaine Bénédicte & Stéphane Tissot is an iconic benchmark of the Jura region, located in the village of Montigny-lès-Arsures near Arbois, France.
